Where to go to learn more

The internet is big. Really big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind- bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist's, but that's just peanuts to the internet. Below are links to places that you might find interesting - in an educational capacity - without tiring yourself out too much looking for them.

There's quite a few, and they cover many subjects, so have a garner and give us feedback if there are any you think are missing or could be better.

"It's Dot Com!"
A fun, family friendly flash site which features an odd assortment of characters. Updated almost weekly there is pleanty there to help whittle away some time whilst bringing a smile.

More cartoon hijinks, slightly more abstract.

Wikipedia. It might not appear to be fun straight away, but try looking up anything in the world. If it's not there, then why not add it yourself? All of Wikipedia is written by everyday people with something to share. (look up Space Raider crisps for a page by Scott)

Sort of like the snippets board you'd see at Asda or Somerfield. Gumtree has people from all over Glasgow sell and buy all sorts of things. There are cars, furniture, flats, computers, tickets - You name it and it'll be there. Have a poke about and see how it all works.

You'll need to sign up to view this one but it's well worth it. Freeshare takes on the ethos of 'Why chuck something out when someone else might benefit from it?'.     All sorts of goods are there for free. Coffee machines, bikes, slabs, computers, the list goes on-and-on. Remember to use your common sense if picking up or giving away something.

A social networking site that features often in the news. Facebook is Scott's personal favourite over Bebo and MySpace for its ease of use. It is lots of fun but make sure you've check out Our Classes teachings regarding divulging personal details to anyone.

See your house from outer space, visit your holiday location prior to booking, plan your journey. Google maps is another wonderful application from Google. You have to see it to believe it.
